At 9:15 am every Sunday we offer an adult community class in Room B1 (nursery care is provided). At 10:30 am, we have two services... one specifically designed to meet the needs of children, and our regular worship service with the best current and classic church music, biblical, verse-by-verse preaching, and a time to offer our prayers and offerings to the Lord.

EXCITING CHANGES FOR FCC

Progress Made on FCC Merger

The Elders of the church have been praying and working for two years to discover God’s will about moving forward with assimilation (merger), with another church in order to minister to more people in the East Valley. Our leaders have met with pastors and church boards over the last several months to discuss and seek the best alternatives for FCC.
Our priorities have been clear.

1. We want to glorify God and see his KINGDOM grow.
2. We want to provide a comfortable place for our current congregation; a place where the other church welcomes and assimilates our congregation.
3. We want to protect HOPE Christian Academy by providing a long-term commitment for them to remain on this campus.
4. We want to protect our staff with generous severance and retirement benefits.
5. We want to protect our missionaries with adequate support for 1-2 years and sufficient notice if support is going to be withdrawn.
6. We want to protect those who have grown gardens on our campus with 1-2 years of freedom to continue to serve the community with their labor of love.
7. We want this property to be used for an evangelical
church.

God then brought a church to the FCC Elders’ attention. Antioch Community Church (www.antiochtempe.org) made a proposal. That proposal covers all seven of the priorities listed. There have been meetings with the founding/current senior pastor, Travis Phillips, and the Antioch Elders. The FCC Elders feel very comfortable about the merger of the two churches. Our conversations with them have been about a merger & assimilation, not a take-over. Antioch is a congregation of 350 people who meet in a Church of Christ building on Sunday nights on Mill Ave. in Tempe. They are a younger church with lots of enthusiasm and momentum. More information will be coming soon, and you will have opportunity to ask questions.

The Elders are encouraged and excited about this opportunity, and are grateful for your patience as we continue to seek God’s will for our church family.
